RDT Soccer Academy delivers high-quality soccer programming to families across Winnipeg. That scale, over 1,600 young athletes a year, had put real pressure on systems that were never built to run an operation this size.
The challenge
Registration, communications and scheduling all ran through basic contact forms and Excel spreadsheets. During peak registration windows those manual systems became a genuine bottleneck, making it hard to keep information accurate, coordinate coaches, and give parents a smooth experience. The website itself was functional but difficult to navigate, so families often struggled to find program information or complete registration. With no central system for team and player data, staff workload kept climbing along with the academy’s growth.
The solution
TAG implemented a centralized sports management platform to handle registration, payments, scheduling and communications in one place, sized to RDT’s scale and budget rather than an enterprise tool built for a much larger organization. Alongside that, TAG redesigned the website for mobile usability, speed and clarity, and integrated it directly with the new platform so the two worked as one smooth experience instead of two disconnected systems, which also meaningfully cut down support requests. TAG also identified and helped RDT successfully apply for a government grant, reducing the cost of the rollout, and has continued providing ongoing digital and operational support as the academy’s needs evolve.
The results
Registration, payments and scheduling now run through a single platform instead of spreadsheets and contact forms, with a rebuilt website that gives more than 1,600 young athletes a year a clear, mobile-friendly way to find programs and register. The academy delivered every milestone of the project on a demanding timeline, with day-to-day support requests down and staff time freed up from manual admin work.
